First day of the new year-No scolding, no shouting and yelling and no crying. That’s the rule of the day for ushering in the Year of the Rabbit. With Yee Ruu as a new addition to the family, I was pretty worried about the logistic of bringing another kid around for the new year visitings. Am really glad that my fears were unfound as we spread out the visits and took our time at each destination.
The entire family was up and about early in the morning. We ate some mee sua with ingredients from the reunion dinner the night before before showering the kids. First stop of the day – Burmese temple. The entire family headed down to the Burmese temple to seek blessing for the coming year. It was a quick affair that didn’t take more than 20 mins.
Am so glad to that I survived a rather hectic New Year! Lets hope we'll have a smooth year ahead.

Yee Sinn turned 3 this year. She celebrated her birthday 3 times! What a lucky girl. As her birthday fell on a work day Wednesday, we had a little party at my aunt's place the Saturday before. Our little girl was so excited that she told her friends in school that she'll be having a little party over the weekend.
Just a few days before, I brought her to pick her cake of her choice. As she wanted a cake with Strawberry Shortcake characters, I had to hunt high and low before we finally found out that Prima Deli actually sells these character cakes. So we headed down to the nearest branch which was at Square 2 , to purchase the cake just before making our way to aunt's place on Saturday evening.
The entire family headed down to Ion Orchard for a birthday meal. On the way back, we walked passed Cake History and chanced upon a pastry with lots of strawberries on it. So we decided to get the bread and had another mini-birthday celebration at home, this time with Grandma Lee.
I'm sure Yee Sinn enjoyed herself and hope she'll have some fond memories of her birthdays with her loved ones.

She has also been helping me with the baby's shower and diaper changes, alway volunteering to get the diapers, to stick the tabs together as well as to apply baby lotion on the tummy after the bath. Am so proud of my little helper.
Yee Sinn is ever so protective and ever so loving toward her sister. I hope this sibling bond will remain for the longest time.

The doctor also checked on her growth milestone and we were glad that all's well for her. I was initially worried that Yee Ruu wasn't growing as fast or as much as she was required to as she wasn't a big milk drinker. It didn't help that I was latching her on everytime so there wasn't an indication of how much she was drinking. It was a relief when Dr Heng assured me that she's currently on the 50th percentile based on the growth chart.

I feel very blessed to have my 2 little angels. Yee Sinn has been the most understanding daughter anyone could dream to have. She has been my little helper, often assisting me with her little sister's need. Not only that, she is protective when it comes to outsiders wanting to carry Yee Ruu. She gets upset when friends or other family members tell her that they wanna bring mei mei home. There were times when she burst into tears telling them "You can't bring baby home, it's OUR baby....".
Almost everyday, Yee Sinn will come over to her little sister and plant a little wet kiss after her bath. Sometimes when Yee Ruu cries, she will also pat her on her tummy telling her not to cry etc. She also enjoys carrying her little sister, though she'll complain that it's kind of heavy.
I'm sure when they both grow up, Yee Sinn will be looking out for her little sister. I'm not too sure about Yee Ruu though... hopefully she doesn't take advantage of her Jie Jie and walk all over her. I hope both my girls will grow up respecting each other, protecting each other and be there for each other in times of need. That's what sisters are for... :-)
