Since Monday's National Day Rally, many of my well-meaning friends have been asking me to start trying for another baby to keep Yee Sinn company. For those who have missed what was being announced, you can refer to this site: http://fcd.ecitizen.gov.sg/MarriageNParenthoodPackage

In summary on work-life support, from 1st Jan 09, the government will be giving mothers an extra 1 month of paid maternity leaves (a total of 4 months now), 6 days of paid childcare leave (up from 2), tax incentives as well as more baby bonus.

Having Yee Sinn is already a big blessing. Hubby and I are enjoying ourselves with her. Therefore, we are actually not too sure if it is a good time to have baby number 2. Our main worry is whether we will be able to give Yee Sinn sufficient attention if we have to handle other siblings as well. Oh well, this issue will be KIV for now. :-)

Hubby and I went down to Suntec Square (It's acutally an open space at Suntec City) to try our luck on the Straits Time's Part of My Life Lucky Draw. The grand prize was a Volkswagon 1.4L Touren that cost approximately 75 grands.

We did not walk away with the car... but won an umbrella though. Hee hee. Better than nothing I supposed.

We have been taking part in the Straits Time Lucky Draw for the 4 years already. I still remembered the first time was held at East Coast Park and I sure won't forget the crowd!!! The 2nd and 3rd year were held at Kallang and Raffles Place respectively. This year's venue was the best so far. It is somewhere central, with sufficient food outlets. The weather was brilliant too as there were constant breeze as we stood among the crowd.

No luck this year... but lets keep our fingers crossed for next's. Yes, I am a sucker for lucky draw and who knows I may actually get lucky and walk away with a car.

I took a day off from work today. It's quite a nice break spending the Monday morning nursing Yee Sinn, feeding her cereal, bathing her and patting her to nap.

She can now eat a few more mouthful of rice cereal, though the mess she makes is still horrible. Oh yah, I managed to see her doing her stunts too. She can now make her way to papa's gadgets (his handphone, calculator, digital camera or anything that gives out light and sound)... sometime rabbit hopping, sometimes crawling, sometimes combat crawling.

We went down to Lucky Plaza to try out the Nasi Brayani at Lucky Prata that was featured in yesterday's newspaper. Food isn't too bad but Yee Sinn didn't really liked the spicy smell of the resturant. We spend the next 2 hours looking through the baby fair at Takashimaya. Though we didn't see anything worth buying, it was a nice shopping experience with hubby and kiddo. Can't wait to take my next day off to bum around again.

Here is Yee Sinn posing for the camera. She usually behaves herself and will strike a pose when she sees anyone of us whipping out a camera. By the way, she likes gadgets... and that includes our cameras.

Yee Sinn can be very naughty at times. She likes to grab things and have been gumming almost anything that she can lay her hands on. You name it, she had it.. in her mouth I mean.

Yee Sinn likes hairy chests! She likes to stroke the fur found one of the flash card with the picture of a "Cat" that Papa bought for her.

Yee Sinn eats like a bird. She doesn't drink a lot of milk... approximately 120ml to 150ml. That's not alot considering Dr Heng mentioned that the average kid her age usually takes in about 150ml to 180ml. But oh well, as long as she is growing well, I am not too concerned.

It has been hell at work last week. I was terribly busy with some upcoming projects and these stuffs never seems to end.

Nevertheless, Yee Sinn and her Papa never fails to cheer me up at the end of the day. We had a great time together during the weekend with visits to the library, Grandma Chang's house, dinners at Toa Payoh Central as well as simply kidding around with Yee Sinn and her Papa. These are some simple pleasures that I learnt to appreciate over the years.

I managed take a video of father and daughter at play last night. It's so easy to make her smile and laugh. I also managed to edit it down to 30sec to keep uploading short. Hopefully I will have more time on hand to include more pictures of our girl in the next couple of days. Meanwhile, it's back to work. *sigh*

We gave Yee Sinn her first semi-solid on Saturday morning. We decided to let her try Friso Cream as it has a smooth texture which makes it very easy for kids to swallow. It got a bit messy as she wasn't used to having a spoon shoved into her mouth. I don't think she likes the taste cos she gave a "Yucks" expression. We're going to try again before we decide to carry on to Friso Cream to to just simply cook plain rice porridge instead.

Yee Sinn has a new toy.... well, it is not exactly her toy because we rented it instead of buying. I came across this website that rents out children toys. In the end, I rented an Evenflo Exersuacer (or something like that) to keep our dear girl entertained.

She seemed to be enjoying herself by bouncing and turning herself while exploring the features that comes it it. Hubby and I are just wondering how long her interest for the toy will last.... thank goodness it is on loan.

Last Saturday Yee Sinn had her 6-in-1 jab. As usually, she was down with fever in the night. Poor Mama and Papa could not have a proper rest as she was fussing the ENTIRE night. Glad she's all well and cheery on Sunday. She is growing up just fine. Dr Heng said she's in the 50th percentile range - not a very big baby in terms of weight. However, her motor skill development is excellent. She was amazed that Yee Sinn was able to sit so steadily during her check-up at the age of 5.5 months. Well, we did tell her that we are not overly protective parents - we let Yee Sinn tumble and fall so that she'll learn how to pick herself up quickly. Yes, we are so proud of our little baby for reaching all her milestones. Oh yah, did I mention that Yee Sinn can now associate the potty with pooping and peeing? Nowadays she gets it right 70% of the time. *Hee*

These few days, she seemed to be enjoying her little outings. Be it a simple trip downstairs to open the letter box, a car ride to Grandma Chang's house or to the playground downstairs, Yee Sinn never fails to show excitement when we tell her "Come, lets go kai kai!". Wondering when she'll be able to join Papa for his Sunday walks....
