Made pancake for breakfast yesterday morning. As Yee Sinn was wearing her "Star" pajamas, I decided to make some "Star" theme pancakes specially for her. She was so happy with her pancakes that she refused to share them with her papa... much to his dismay.

We started using the bath tub that we bought the night before. And oh yes, she really loves the big space in the tub cos she can now put in her entire bucket of toys. The only downside of having a bigger tub is it uses more water. Everyone at home agrees that we should only fill up her new tub till it's half.

We had an early birthday celebration for Grandma Chang with my family in the afternoon. It was a long and heavy lunch. Luckily we fed our little girl at home before heading down to meet them. Yee Sinn was well behaved throughout the meal. She enjoyed eating the Longetivity Bun, plain rice and fish. We adults instead had sharks fins, sea cucumber, peking duck and all other sinful stuffs. Glad my little girl doesn't really like junk fun. Hahahah.

As the lunch became a little draggy, it wasn't long before she finally demanded to get off the child's seat. She went around paying "Peek-a Boo" with Grandma Chang and her Ah Yee.

Straight after lunch, we headed down to Takashimaya for some shopping as they were having a sale for card members. By then, Yee Sinn was already knocked out in her stroller so hubby had a swell time picking up stuffs he doesn't really need - He got 2 boxes of Gundam toys... sigh.

We really had so much fun today... didn't know where I got the energy from to post this online at this time.

After lunch, we headed down to Sentosa for a bit of beach fun. We had 2 compliment rail tickets so we thought it'll be an experience to see what it's like. I borrowed 1 corporate Islander card so that Grandma Lee can come with us for free too. We parked the car at Vivo City before enjoying the rail ride from Vivo city to Sentosa Palawan beach.

Yee Sinn initially wasn't very sure what sand was. I thought she would be upset with sand between her fingers and toes but I was so wrong! She very quickly got used to the sand and before we knew it, she was enjoying the waves as well. I must remember to bring her arm float the next time we hit the beach.

Initially, Yee Sinn had some sand on her hand and she was a little unsure what to do. She had a conversation with her papa and it went something like this: "Papa! Na.. Na.." ("Na" in chinese means take) So hubby just took her hand and put it into the sea water and said "Yee Sinn... see, no more sand. It's Magic!"

So this picture shows Yee Sinn playing with more sand. It took us quite a while to convince her it was time to wash up. We didn't stay at the beach for too long because we wanted to catch the animal show. Told hubby that we should make a date to take her back to the beach for a longer period

Yee Sinn really liked the animal show. She was visibly excited when the audience cheered and clapped. The animals included a monkey, dog, birds of prey such as hwak and eagle, macaws and snake.

Hubby was so proud that he got to hold the eagle during the show. He said though the eagle didn't weigh too heavy, it's balance was fantastic. Oh, he also mentioned that it's claws were extremely sharp despite him wearing the gloves.

A while later, much to Grandma Lee's horror, we volunteered her on stage where she got to carry a 32kg albino snake! WAHAHAHHAAH!

Yee Sinn was knocked out after the animal show. So we thought it'll be good opportunity to window shop around Vivo City while she naps on her stroller. We didn't get anything except a bigger bathtub. Will post a picture of our little girl in her upgraded bathtub soon.

Yesterday was hubby's birthday. It was also the day my little girl turned 17th month old. Hubby had to report back to school for some staff meeting so we decided to celebrate his birthday in the evening. He had a $50 voucher from Jumbo due to his school's fun raising exercise so we decided to try out the East Coast branch.

I picked Grandma Lee and Yee Sinn up after work and headed to VJC for hubby. We were early so we headed to East Coast park for a walk before dinner. Watching other people cable-skied was interesting. Dinner wasn't fantastic though ... in fact, I think the food was over-rated. We orded a hor-fun but it was laden with lots of MSG. The saving grace was their chilli crab that even Grandma Lee said was good. We've decided the next time we wanna eat seafood, we'll head down to "No Signboard Resturant".

We took a stroll along the beach again after dinner. Yee Sinn enjoyed sitting quietly by the breakwater and looking at the lights from the boats afar. She was also quite excited upon seeing the crescent moon in the sky. She kept telling us about it by pointing and exclaiming "Papa! Mon!!" or "Mama! Mon!!" (She couldn't really pronounce "Moon" with the double oo yet".)

Hubby was generally happy with the simple celebration. I know cos as long as all of us are happy, he will be too.

It was a really good weekend in my opinion... cos we managed to get many of our wish-list done. Hubby and I finally brought out little spider-girl (she has been climbing all over the place - chair, bed, tables etc) for her MMR jab on Saturday morning. We managed to weigh her and she's now approximately 9.9kg. Almost the weight of a bag of rice... no wonder I get breathless carrying her up the stairs nowadays. Dr Heng warned us that she may develop mild fever within 10 days so we're all keeping our fingers crossed it'll never happen.

In the early afternoon, the entire family went down to the optician at Toa Payoh Central to make our glasses. Hubby got a new pair of contact lenses while Grandma Lee and I made a new pair of glasses each. I checked their records and realised the last time we were there was in 2007.

We all headed down to Jacob Ballas at the Botanic Gardens for a little bit of outdoor. After going there a few times, it doesn't seems as attractive as before, especially the area with the water feature. Hubby and I agree that we'll head down to the main park next time. At least we can lay out our picnic mats, read our papers while our little girl can play ball.

Dinner was interesting. Initially we wanted to use up the $50 voucher at Jumbo resturant. We called up the Dempsey branch and was told the place was fully booked. So we drove around and found an old coffee-shop like eatery near Kitchener Road that sells traditional Heng Hwa food. We decided to try it out in celebration of Father's Day. The food was traditional, no-frill and "honest". All of us, including Yee Sinn, enjoyed our meals there.

Sunday was the usual- Hubby went for his MacRitchie-Bt Timah walk, visited my brother whose wife has recently gave birth, went down to Grandma Chang's place for lunch and our afternoon nap before heading to my aunt's place for a swim. My little girl loves swimming. She loves the water so much that she refused to get out of the pool at the end of the day. She found out that she can be quite mobile with just her 2 arm-floats and her powerful kicks. Will try to take a short video of her the next time we hit the pool.

Yee Sinn's motor skill is developing really well. Nowadays she can be like a little monkey - climbing everywhere. To make good of her new found skill, we have been bringing her to the playground more regularly (since Papa is now having his school holidays) so that she can climb all she wants. She has been trying out the balancing beam at the fitness corner too but she's still not too steady yet.

Check out the video of my little Spider-Girl... red underwear included.

Perhaps I'm jinxed... I kept falling sick the last few weeks. I was down with Tonsillitis and have been staying away from work. It's kind of hard being at home as well cos I couldn't get sufficient rest with Yee Sinn calling for my attention. I'm lucky to have hubby at home helping to destract her and keep her occupied while I "sweated" my fever away.

I do hope that all at home will be healthy and happy for the rest of the year.

Been feeling so tired these few days looking after Yee Sinn. Sometime I do wish to be a full time stay at home mother so that I can be with my little girl most of the time. There are so many things we can do together and it will be very fun. But then again, it would mean being more prudent in my expenses and no more expensive indulgences. Oh well, hubby advised me to take a break from work instead to re-charged. So here I am... looking at my calendar.. hopefully I'll be able to take 2-3 weeks off in a couple of months time to stay at home. I'll have to see if there are any important projects due during that time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Here are some photos taken over the previous week. See how much our little girl has grown. She now has a mind of her own - she decides what she wants to wear for the day after her morning bath. She also pick and chooses what books she wants to read and who she wants to sit next to while watching TV. Tsk Tsk...
We were on our way out to Kiddy Palace at Toa Payoh Central to chill during one of the very warm afternoon when she stuck a pose for me. It's a fun place to bring Yee Sinn cos she can play with the toys on display (without us buying any for her) while the adults like us enjoy the air-con.

Having a bubble bath has became one of her favourite activity of the day. She can sit in her tub for almost half and hour. She usually plays with her ducks, watering can, spades and other containers while blabbling to herself.

I've stayed at home a couple of days last week to be with hubby and our little girl. Unfortunately, Yee Sinn hasn't been well. She's down with some serious gum infection and has been having on-off fever... we thought she was getting better but it wasn't so. It got so bad that we brought her to see the dr on Saturday to pick up some medication for her. She's now on antibiotics and hope we'll be able to see some improvement soon. I think we'll have to be more diligent with her oral hygiene after this scare....
