This is the 2nd time in the week that we were at Sentosa. My brother and family booked a room at Festive Hotel and we were invited to a swim at the pool at Hard Rock Hotel.

The pool was really beautiful with a section of artificial beach and kids play area. The kids simply love the sand. I like it too cos it was very much cleaner than the public beaches along Sentosa.

I didn't wanna get wet and dirty because I had to look after Yee Ruu. She was sound asleep in her pram half of the time though. Nevertheless, the kids had fun building sand castles, swimming and just floating around.

After spending approximately 3hrs at the pool side, the kids were hungry and tired. We washed up and the entire family headed to Din Tai Feng for a chinese dinner. It wasn't as chaotic as I thought it will be... the kids are now better behaved and could even self feed themselves. Above is a picture of how proud hubby was when Yee Ruu also showed signs of being a thumb sucker....

Looking forward to more staycation getaways soon.

This holiday, I also took the kids to Sentosa. Apparently they were having some children's engagement programs such as Storying Telling Comes Alive. There were 3 different shows - Goldilock and the Three Bears, Jack and the Bean Stalk and The Enormous Turnip.

It was the last week they were showing this so I was pretty glad that we made a trip down. Yee Sinn enjoyed the show tremendously, with lots of participation in between.

Here's my little girl behind the Goldilock cut out. Too bad we didn't manage to see the other 2 shows.

They were having some craft activities for the children as well. I paid $4.00 for her to have a go at making a hand puppet out of socks. Honestly, I couldn't make out if she made an elephant or a cat at the end of it. Oh well, as long as she had her fun...:-)

Here's a rare picture of the entire family. It's so difficult to get the 2 girls to look into the camera.

We celebrated Father's Day at the Botanical Garden, courtesy of Yee Sinn's art teacher. She organised a little party for her students at the park. She was kind to have organised some craft activities and games for the kids.

Each family brought some food for the picnic. We contributed mini tarts from Delifrance which was pretty well received. While the adults sat around chit-chatting, the kids were busy making a Father's Day card for their dads. This was what Yee Sinn wrote in hers: You are the best Gundam builder. I was pretty surprised when I saw the card myself. She asked her teacher how to spell the words while she wrote alphabets by alphabets. I like the way she writes her "R" and thought it was pretty cute.

We just love our outdoors and came prepared with our mats, balls and bubbles.

For this Father's Day, I hope both father and daughters' relationship will remain as steadfast as ever. Happy Father's Day to all dads in the world!

Being 3, Yee Sinn is now very easily influenced by the advertisments on TV. One fine day she came up to me to request us to take her to the Bird Park after seeing the advert on TV.

Me : Why do you wanna go to the bird park for?

Yee Sinn: To see birds lor!

That was kind of a no-brainer question to her. Sigh. She's really growing up fast.

So came Saturday morning, I had to wake the entire household up early so that we can start the day at the Bird Park before it gets too hot. It has been about 1 year since we were there. Thanks to my company's corporate pass, we saved a lot in terms of entrance fees to the park.

Just like the previous time, the kids enjoyed themselves at the penguin and puffin enclosure. Grandma Lee and I just enjoyed the air-con comfort at the enclosure. We were lucky to have caught their feeding time. Watching the penguins dive for their food was quite fascinating.

One of the highlights for this holiday at the park was their Origami Villiage. There were several handicraft stations that allows the kids to colour, fold or make items like cranes, butterflies or ice blocks while learning about conservation of their habitats.

Here is Yee Ruu entertaining herself with some brochures...

while hubby and Yee Sinn worked on some colourful butterflies.

Other than the orgami village, there were nothing new at the park. However, with better weather compared to our last visit, we did managed to check out the waterfall and the owl enclosure. Both hubby and I remembered visiting the bird park for it's tallest man-made waterfall (then) while were were both in Primary school.

Here is my Yee Ruu happily jumping in her exersaucer. She seems to like it more than her sister. I remembered Yee Sinn only stayed in the exersaucer for max 10mins and she detested it after 2 weeks. As for Yee Ruu, she seems to be happily occupied with the toys... so guess it's my money worth. :-)

The kids, young and old (hubby) hit the mall as usual for their free shows. Their favourite mall this season is Takashimaya Shopping Centre. First week they had Transformers, 2n week was Kung Fu Panda (going to up load the pics as it was still in hubby's phone) and the last week was Gundam. As I was working, I only took leave to take them for the Transformers show. I didn't bother bringing them for the other 2... hubby did.

It's the school holidays again and we have a series of activities lined up for the kids. They just simply love having their Papa around to take them places. To them, Papa = F.U.N!!!

We visited the Singapore Art Museum (SAM). Once again they were having the Children's Season. We really like the way they put up their exhibits. They are usually very colourful and most, if not all their installations were interactive. We actually went to 8Q to purchase the tickets and were re-directed to their main museum where the exhibits were.

Our Yee Sinn sure enjoyed herself. She was pretty excited as she entered each and every room to explore what they have installed. There were plenty of colouring projects stations as well as mini-games where the kids could mix and match items to create their own pictures by sticking these pieces that were on velcro onto the installations. One that she particularly enjoyed was sticking different types of clothes to create her own fashion people.

We also paid $1 for a paper fruit template to create our own paper fruit. There were simple ones such as an orange to fruits that required very complex folding and gluing skill like the bananas. Yee Sinn insisted on an apple which was moderately difficult. It took hubby and her a good half and hour to complete their task.

The whole family had fun doing up some colouring pages that were available free. Even Yee Ruu had a go.

At the end of the day, everyone was pretty exhausted. The kids just zonked out in their strollers the moment they sat down. Making the best out of the situation, hubby and I decided to chill out nearby for a nice quiet Tunch while the kids slept. It was a nice way to spend a Monday afternoon.

Realised that Yee Ruu has the tendancy to stand on her 2 feet. So, like her elder sister, I hired an exersaucer online for $38 per month for Yee Ruu. The website offers toy rental which is a good idea when it comes to huge and bulky toys. I think it's good fun cos Yee Ruu enjoys being in it... well.. for awhile at least. We like to put her in it when we're occupied with our chores. And the best part of it is the fact that I can just return it when she gets bored.
