Yee Sinn has been attending art lessons for the last few weeks. Above is a picture she drew before we started on her lessons. On the left is a picture of me. It's bascially just a circular face with legs and hands straight out from the face. On the right is her papa. Though it was a simple picture, I was really proud of her. She does have eyes for details such as her papa's unshaven beard. Hahhaha.

On her first lesson, the teacher showed her how to draw a cat. In that drawing she coloured her cat purple (papa's favourite colour according to her). So a few days after her first lesson, she drew me 2 cats. The bigger one is "mama" cat while the smaller one behind is her baby cat. She liken the picture to the both of us. She coloured the "mama" cat a hue of colours... and exclaimed that only the "mama" cat can have all the colours from her crayons. She prefers the baby cat to be plain white. This shows how important I am to her.

Just 2 days ago, she drew our family portrait again. See how each of us are of different colours? She told me that she used red to draw me cos it's my favourite colour. And again, I was the first person she drew on the middle of the paper and I occupy the biggest space on (this again it shows that I'm the most important person in her life right now). On the extreme right is her little sister Yee Ruu lying down. She drew herself behind her sister, holding a heart-shaped balloon.

The above picture was drawn just yesterday. It's a picture of Grandma Lee with her curly hair. Compared to her very first few pictures, the bodies she has been drawing are now more proportionate (much bigger than before). There are now hands coming out of the bodies and the above picture even shows Grandma Lee wearing long pants (like she always does).

I'm wondering what other surprises my Yee Sinn will be coming up with next. :-)

Yee Ruu has been very kind to us. She has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 months old. She is also very predictable and we all know when she wants to eat, play or sleep. Yee Ruu is like her elder sister in a sense that she is a "text book" baby. All her milestones are on the dot and I'm glad she is so.

We also took out some of Yee Sinn's old toys for Yee Ruu. Guess being the 2nd kid in the family means having to live with more hand-me-downs more often. Once in a while, I'll be so tempted to buy some new clothes or toys for the little one.

Her weight has also increased by almost half at 3 months old. We were initially worried that she will be a little underweight as she doesn't take a lot of milk. It was a relief when the PD assured us that she is around the 50% percentile in terms of weight.

Yee Ruu has also brought much joy to all of us, especially her big sister. Initially, we were afraid that Yee Sinn will be jealous of her baby sister but our fears are unfound. Yee Sinn instead, adores her baby sister. Am not sure where she learnt it from, but she has been very sensible and usually has the initiatives to help out during her sister's diaper change. She also comfort her when she cries and plays with when she's awake. She has also learnt to share her toys, her time and her love with her sister. She has became her little sister's protector in a way. Both hubby and I are so glad that we made the right decision of having another child (though the journey of doing so wasn't so easy and was filled with some heart breaks) so that our elder girl will have someone to be with.

May both my girls be happy and well.

Hubby was off work yesterday so we decided to head down to Suntec after Yee Sinn's playground ended. There was a Kidz Academy in one of the halls with various enrichment classes/ schools exhibiting their products and offerings. Yee Sinn's art school has a booth set up there and they were displaying some of her art works. Above is a craft work on her self portrait.

Hubby and Yee Sinn then got interested in the robotics exhibition by the Singapore Science Centre. As the crowd was relatively thin on a Friday afternoon, we spent quite some time there playing soccer with the robots.

There was also a booth by "Dad for Life". They approached hubby to pen something for his kids and he did! I am really thankful that hubby has really been an involved father since the birth of Yee Sinn. No matter how tired he is, he will put aside some time after work to talk to his girls, or simply just be there for them. Really appreciate the 3 big blessings in my life - Hubby, Yee Sinn & Yee Ruu. I love them to bits!

My little Yee Ruu has been getting more tummy time... though she still dreads it. Nowadays, she'll prop her head up much longer before she whine to complain to be rolled back. Guess she isn't as feisty as her elder sister, who loves to be on her tummy at a much younger age.
