Yee Sinn is really growing fast. She is very fun to play with because she is getting more and more responsive. Her memory is now getting better so we could play peek-a-boo with her. She seems to be enjoying herself when we "boo" her or just simply talk to her. Yee Sinn was fussing a little after she woke up from her nap yesterday. After carrying her for awhile, hubby took out a library book and started to tell her a story. She clamed down quite a bit and was quite focus on the pictures.

Yee Sinn is growing up very fast. She has been trying to do a flip with her hip these few days. I think she’ll be able to succeed by end of next week. Also, she has been able to move from one end of the bed to the other by dragging her body (and face) with her arms and pushing with her feet. It’s kind of dangerous leaving her on her own on our bed now. We’re wondering if she actually knows which direction she wants to go.

Today marked my first day back at work. I took the morning off to settle Yee Sinn down and reported back only in the afternoon. Feeling a bit upset about going back because it’ll mean that I won’t get to be around to witness her many firsts.

But then again, I cannot be with baby forever and I must learn to let go. Guess I’ll get used to not being with her that often.

Below are some photos I took of her yesterday and this morning.

Yee Sinn is now quite tall. Very soon she will not be able to fit onto her changing table.

Yee Sinn's favourite toy is Mr Frog. She enjoys "torturing" him by whacking him.

That's my baby trying to talk to me. Her favourite word now is "Ooh", which means "Yes"

Haiz...quite a few of my colleagues and friends called up the last few days asking when I'll be reporting back at work. It'll be end of my 3 months of maternity leave soon. Will continue being a slave for the "gah men" in exactly 1 week's time and am not looking forward to it.

As Yee Sinn needs to get used to not having mummy around, I have been letting Grandma Lee take over the childcare bit by bit. She is currently having some trouble with bathing Yee Sinn. She will bawl her lungs out when having her face cleaned etc. It's a bit heartbreaking but I don't have a choice.... All I can do is to hide myself in a corner so that baby won't see me, else she'll scream even louder. Grandma Lee initially had some problem feeding her as well. Now, as long as she gets her milk, she doesn't mind who is feeding her.

Guess she'll have to get used to my absence... after all, she's her daddy's hero and will be able to overcome such stuff.

Yee Sinn's Ah Yee just finished her final exams and spent some time with us yesterday. We took her to NTUC to pick up some groceries. Guess what? She was so afraid of the crowd that she buried her head in my T-shirt most of the time. I hope she'll get used to people soon. After all, her daddy and mummy are all friendly folks with lots of friends to hang out with.

It has been a wonderful weekend. For the first time Yee Sinn laughed. She laughed a couple of times before that but it was for a fleeting moment. But just yesterday, when her Ah Yee held her hands and said “Hello”, Yee Sinn broke out into laughter. She went “hur hur hur”… smiled… then “hur hur hur” again and again. She laughed and we all laughed with her. I think she’s getting the hang of it cos she laughed again today, but with squeals!! Very soon she’ll be talking and I can’t wait!

"Guess who loves me?"

Yee Sinn has a new toy last week. Her cousin lent her his play gym. Unfortunately, there wasn't any hanging parts found. So mummy and daddy decided to improvise and hang some of Yee Sinn's toy on the play gym arch instead. Surprisingly, she seems to like it quite a lot. She could spent at least half an hour amusing herself. Her favourite hobby is now whacking Mr Frog or shaking the entire gym so that Pinky Rabbit could hop.

Time Together

We have been focusing all our time and energy on baby for the last 2.5 months. So hubby and I thought it’ll be good to spend some time together without baby. It has been some time since we do things together… the last was our regular violin lessons before Yee Sinn popped. (Joe, our music teacher, really made our lessons enjoyable as he was extremely patient towards our lack of practices. *guilty*)

We signed up for a 1 day course organized by Family Life Centre. It was called “Love Bound Encounter - Dynamic Duo” where married couples learnt more about each other through couple yoga and a talk on personality. We started the day renewing our vows – I don’t see a reason to have this segment cos our vows do not have an expiry date, except for the part where it says “till death do us part”. Yup, the contract says that we’ll be staying together through sickness and health till one of us konk off. *choy choy choy*

The couple yoga segment was interesting. Hubby and I were able to compliment each other on our strength and weaknesses when trying out various poses. Of course, he did more work cos he’s an experience yogi. If Joe can’t take us back as students, perhaps we’ll look for classes for couple yoga instead. Heh heh. The stretches sure did me some good.

It was a nice to end the day with a stroll through Toa Payoh park in the evening. Well, the feeling of just being a couple once again didn’t last very long. It was the cycle of feeding, nappy changing and patting Yee Sinn to sleep the moment we stepped into the house again.

T3

I had my own little adventure yesterday. 2 of my friends were feeling bored so they came over to pick me up to check out T3. We ended up at Mac Donalds instead. A nice thing about T3 is the vast amount of open space - for kids to scream and run around in.

Yee Sinn is a curious baby who likes to look at people's faces. Think her idol will be Mr Lee Hsien Loong next time.

I was feeling a little bored so I took this picture of both of us while lying down. Her smile just makes my day!
